Growing up in the Brooklyn housing projects wasn’t just a chapter in my life; it was the foundation upon which I built my dreams and aspirations.

I met Cindy on Instagram the way many of us are meeting these days, liking posts, commenting, and chatting with other Silver Sisters. Captivated by gorgeous photos of her idyllic life of bunnies, critters, and gardens coupled with photos of one of my favorite places...
Curly in the summer, straight in the winter…I like change and the versatility of switching back and forth. So I’ll be going back to straight for the cooler weather in a few days. I’ll see how it goes and how long it lasts when I go to the gym,but for now I’m welcoming the change🍁🍁Plus it’s hard to wear hats with this puffy hair!!😂
Do you switch it up with the changing of the seasons?

Last year around this time…
Sedona never gets old — those red rocks hit different every single time! 🌄 Last year’s Pink Jeep adventure was all thrills, dust, and wind-blown gray hair giving main character energy. If you know, you know… Sedona just does something to your soul.

Reintroducing y’all to my gray hair transition.
If you’ve been here a while, you know this journey started way back in late 2018 — when those first few silvers peeked through and I decided to let them shine. ✨
From the early days of my gray hair transition (nervous but determined) … to my son @dad_hat718 being my loudest cheerleader and fiercest advocate … to sweet moments with my granddaughter who only knows me as her fly Sylver granny 💅🏽 — it’s been a ride full of growth, grace, and a whole lot of sparkle.
I didn’t just grow out my gray — I grew into me. Every stage taught me something about beauty, self-acceptance, and the freedom that comes when you stop chasing “youth” and start embracing your power.
If you’re new here, welcome to my little corner of confidence, style, and aging out loud. 💫 I share my journey not to say “look at me” but to remind you — it’s never too late to become your most authentic self.

Would you ever let your natural gray grow in?
Okay, I admit it — this AI thing is getting out of hand! I was just playing around and somehow it turned into a full-blown time travel adventure with me and Dave. One minute we’re in the roaring ’20s, the next we’re grooving through the ’60s and rocking the ’80s. I can’t decide if it’s hilarious, creepy, or kind of amazing — maybe all three!
I know I said I wasn’t going to get sucked into this AI craze, but honestly… it’s too entertaining not to. It’s wild to see what technology can do — and a little reminder that no matter the decade, some things (and some people 😉) never go out of style.
Are you working with AI these days?
Which era do you like best for us?

They say you can’t go back in time… but AI let me play pretend for a moment. Hover over the images for a second to see the movement…
These vintage photos are my little ode to my younger self — the girl who dreamed big, laughed loud, and never stopped waving at the future. Funny enough, in every frame, someone’s waving — me, my son, my mom. It feels like generations calling out to each other across time.
AI gave me a time machine for the day — and I used it to wave at my younger self.
These are real photos, and the waving was generated by AI-but they’re real memories of who I was, who raised me, and who I’ve become. Three generations, still waving.

How do you feel about AI?
The first day at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta was a total bust. The weather was gorgeous, but the wind had other plans—too strong for the balloons to fly. Six hours on the road, anticipation sky-high, and not a single balloon lifted. We were told this could happen… but still, disappointment hit hard.(Check out my other Albuquerque video)
But we weren’t leaving defeated. We’ve wanted to see this for years—it’s been on our bucket list forever. So, we got up the next morning, determined. And this time, the sky rewarded us. (Thanks so much for the parking pass @deebookattic !!)
The glow, the colors, the sound of burners firing against the sunrise—it was everything we dreamed it would be and more.
Life’s like that sometimes. The first try doesn’t always lift off. The timing feels off. The wind says no. But if you stay patient, show up again, and give it one more chance… the beauty reveals itself. We’re so glad we came back the next day! They say it’s darkest before dawn, and your blessings are sometimes right on the other side of adversity, so be patient and don’t give up!!!

It was supposed to be a sky full of color, but the winds had other plans. Still, the day was gorgeous—warm, golden, and far too nice to complain about. As someone who believes 60 degrees is winter, I wasn’t mad at the sunshine one bit. We may not have seen the big balloon show we came for, but there’s something to be said for slowing down, chatting with good people, and enjoying the moment you’re in.
Tomorrow, we’ll try again—because that’s what we do. Sometimes life gives you wind instead of lift, but you show up anyway, lipstick on, coffee in hand, ready for another round. The balloons can wait; the joy’s in the journey.

We met when we both were 60…
Things to think about when you’re looking for love over 50:
* That perfect Prince in shining armor didn’t show up yet, so it might be time to refresh your
dating checklist. I’m not saying settle for anyone, but reassess your requirements. As we age, it might be something like wanting someone in good health, and pretty fit like you. Be flexible about things that were dealbreakers before.
* You get what you get- there’s no changing him or changing you after all these years.
Personalities are pretty much set.
Allow the other person their being-ness.
We all come from different upbringings and backgrounds. Respect , learn, and let them be.
* Be prepared to weather the storms and ups and downs of another persons’ personality and decide whether or not you can deal with it.
Finally…my favorite quote about love:
“Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction”
a quote from French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
For us, this rings true because Christ is the center of our relationship. Aligning on faith and politics ensures a smoother ride than if you’re diametrically opposed on values. Just saying.
So open your heart and keep hope alive!
Love is possible over 40,50,60 and beyond!
