Silver Lining: Adelina’s Story of Embracing Every Season with Style!

by | Jan 22, 2025

Back when I was living in Brooklyn a few years ago, I found myself in an unexpected situation that left me reflecting on the perceptions of age and vitality. As I strolled down the street behind a group of high school students, I couldn’t help but notice their slower pace. Suddenly, one of the young men glanced back and quipped, “let the old lady pass.” Old lady? I couldn’t help but chuckle to myself. as I spryly raced past them. Was that label really meant for me? You see, what they didn’t know was that my gray hair wasn’t a symbol of slowing down; it was a badge of embracing my whole self and all the experiences that come with it.

It’s funny how a simple moment like that can spark a journey of self-discovery. Rather than feeling offended, I felt empowered. Embracing my gray hair wasn’t just about accepting a natural part of aging; it was about embracing my entire being and reinventing myself in the process. I realized that age isn’t a limitation; it’s an opportunity to rewrite the script of your life.

So, I decided to take that opportunity and run with it. I found a new calling as a social media influencer, using my platform to change the narrative around aging and gray hair. Through my posts on dating over 50, fitness, fashion, and beauty, and faith, I share my journey of living positively and gracefully in every area of life. I want my readers to know that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself, to start over, or to embrace every aspect of who you are.

Life is a journey, and I’m here to share that it’s never too late to live vibrantly, passionately, and authentically. With each post I hope to inspire others to embrace their own journey of self discovery and to live their lives to the fullest, regardless of age or circumstance. So, here’s to rewriting the narrative, embracing our Gray hair, and living our best lives, one vibrant moment at a time.

In case you need some ideas on what to pack for your upcoming tropical vacation, look no further. 🌴☀️

#thisis69 and I still wear shorts and tube tops. At this age, I wear whatever I want and whatever I feel comfortable in. Confidence has no age limit, and neither does personal style.

For my birthday, I wore the flowy 2-piece print set, and because it was so hot I kept my style cool, comfy, and effortless. This silver hair journey has taught me that age-positive style is all about dressing for joy, freedom, and feeling good in your own skin.

Fashion over 60, over 65, and yes — over 69 — can still be bold, fun, stylish, and youthful. Don’t let anyone tell you there’s an expiration date on confidence, crop tops, or tropical vacation outfits. Wear the shorts. Wear the bright prints. Wear what makes you feel alive. ✨

What I packed:
3 tube tops
2 woven tops
3 pr shorts
3 Sundresses
3 pr wide leg pants
2 Caftans
1 pr sneakers
1 black sandal
1pr fisherman sandals
1 pr flip flops
1 hoodie
1 white sweater

Comment “Ideas” and I’ll send a link to similar items in my Amazon shop.

Sunday Service.
God’s handiwork was evident in Bali, and it’s all around us everywhere if we just take a moment to look up wherever we are.

I’m thankful for all blessings, and for being able to travel and see different places. What are you thankful for?

When you’re younger, you don’t usually worry about things like ingrown toenails. But as you get older you’re walking around fine, and then BAM, they start hurting. And somehow, when your feet hurt, your whole body hurts.
Sure, when you go to get a regular pedicure, they can address it temporarily, but they always come back. But now it was affecting everything. My toes were hurting even while wearing sneakers, and so I had to take matters into my own hands or my own feet I should say- as it were.
The procedure was pretty painless and the only thing I felt was the pinch of the needles on either side of my big toe to numb them. It was over before I knew it. The experience was worse in my mind than IRL.
So what was the procedure you ask? The Dr. removed the ingrown edge of the nail and, destroyed the nail root so it won’t grow back. I’m OK with that.

We older folks are doing OK out here in these IG streets, but sometimes getting older sucks!!Not gonna lie😲🤣
But we keep it moving, and we Stay Fly!!!

If you need to get it done, just go get it done!
Some places stay with you long after the suitcase is unpacked.
The @omtaraspa at Kappa Senses Ubud was one of those places for me — hidden among lush greenery, soft rain, flowing water, warm oils, quiet rituals, and the kind of stillness that makes the rest of the world go silent for a little while.
I’m already back home in Arizona, back to real life, emails, laundry and deadlines… but this experience deserved its moment on the timeline because true peace is becoming a luxury these days. Bali slowed me down in the most beautiful way.
And honestly? A massage in the middle of the jungle while listening to nature do its thing should be prescribed at least twice a year.

There’s something about getting older that teaches you the difference between luxury and peace. One costs money. The other costs years.
Years of lessons.Years of heartbreak.Years of overextending, overthinking, overgiving.
So yes… these days I’ll gladly sit in beautiful places, wear the white linen, order the good meal, and disappear into serene aqua views without one ounce of guilt.
Because this softness? It wasn’t handed to me.I earned every bit of it.
Bali has been good for my spirit.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is step away from the noise…
At this age, I no longer vacation to impress people.I vacation to hear myself think again.
