Black Women With Gray Hair

Gray Hair is a Crown of Glory Gray hair is a thing. No…it’s really a THING. Let’s face it, gray haired grannies have always been among us, but I think we all can agree that the new breed of trendy, bold, and bodacious silver-haired women are not like our mother’s...

A Silver Sister’s 30 year Hair Journey

I sat down with Silver Queen Beverly Kirkland last summer before I started my blog. We chatted outside of her Brooklyn Brownstone and discussed the ups and downs of her gray journey through the years. I've said many times, we newbie Silver Sisters are late to the...

Feeling Blessed🙏🏽My boys are now men, and what a journey it has been! There were times when I was navigating this path as a single mom, and it wasn’t always easy. But every moment of raising them has been so worth it! They truly are my greatest gifts, not just for Mother’s Day, but every day. Watching them grow into their own has filled my heart with so much pride. 🌟
Though we might not chat every day, I feel connected to them in the deepest ways. We carry each other in our hearts and minds, no matter the distance or how busy life gets (and trust me, I’m busy too! 😂). Just know that my love for you, my precious gifts, is as vast as the sky! Keep shining bright, young men.🌷💪

Still letting this sink in… 🖤
I opened The Wall Street Journal Style section, and saw my face alongside some of the most stylish, fearless women over 60—and let me tell you, it took my breath away. To be featured in an article about how older women are showing up, dressing up, and taking up space in the world of fashion? That’s a “pinch me” moment I don’t take lightly.
When I started sharing my journey as a woman in her sixties embracing style, aging, and all the beauty that comes with it, I had no idea it would lead here. I just knew I wanted to show up as my full self—grays, grace, denim, lashes, and all.
To be recognized in The Wall Street Journal is an honor, but it’s also a reminder: we’re not invisible. We’re vibrant. We’re valuable. And we’re rewriting every outdated rule about what women “should” wear or do after a certain age.
Thank you to every single person who’s supported my voice, my vision, and my vintage flair. This one’s for all of us who’ve lived, loved, lost, laughed—and still get dressed like life is a runway.

Thank you @estheradamsachara for including me and thank you @wsj

I stood in the middle of a Tampa street, dressed how I felt—bold, alive, and free.
Behind me, the traffic light turned from red to green.
And in that moment, I realized something:
Aging isn’t a red light telling you to stop. It’s the green light you’ve been waiting for.
Too many of us—especially women over 50—have been taught to treat getting older like a warning sign.
Slow down. Dress down. Sit down.
But I say—rise up.
If there’s a dream calling you, a style you’ve tucked away, a passion you’ve put on pause—
let this be your sign to GO.
Go write the book. Go dance the dance.
Go start the business, wear the color, take the trip, say the thing.
We silver sisters weren’t meant to fade out—we were meant to shine brighter.
We are not here to shrink. We are here to expand into our fullest, most fearless selves.
So when the world tells you to pull over, remember this:
The light is green. The moment is now.
And you? You are just getting started. 💚

The weather and circumstances might not always cooperate in the ways you think they should-but keep pushing forward…

Who’s ready to Go?
So for my 50th High School Reunion, I asked Dave to take the photos so I could spend time mingling, and he didn’t know anyone so it’s a win-win. Well he took the pictures alright, every photo is spinning to the left to the left and no - he wasn’t drinking!!

This is the life of an influencer, and yes, everything is content so here we go !

Good news is I did get a few good photos. Check out my Reunion post to see those.

I don’t know why I look so much shorter than him in this photo.

Horrible reunion photos but I guess I’ll keep him anyways!😂
The struggle is reel! Some of y’all wifeys know exactly what I’m talking about. Tell me about your husband photo stories in the comments below👇🏼

If you’re a photographer, holla!!😂😂

50 years flew by in a New York minute…
This is my belated love letter to the High School of Art and Design—class of 1975.
We were the children of the ‘70s, raised on soul, disco, and subway sketches. A wild, brilliant melting pot of dreamers from all five boroughs—Black, Brown, White, Asian, Caribbean, Jewish, Puerto Rican, Dominican, Irish, Italian—you name it, we were there.
We spoke different languages, came from different neighborhoods, but we saw each other… because we were all artists. Creativity was our common ground, and back then, that was more than enough.
This reunion stirred up memories I didn’t even know I still carried. I reconnected with friends I hadn’t seen in decades. Laughed. Hugged. Cried a little. Missed the ones who couldn’t make it—and the ones who are no longer with us.
We were young, gifted, and full of promise… and I’m proud to say we still are.
Art and Design shaped us—and the love is still real.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

They rolled cigars… I rolled through in a baby blue suit and reminded the block what style over 60 really looks like.
Ybor City, Tampa brings the heat with history, soul, and that old-school Cuban energy—and I came dressed to match the vibe.
Tailored. Timeless. Totally Fly.
This menswear-inspired look? Sharp like a fresh haircut, soft like a Havana breeze—and proof that elegance doesn’t age out.
You can keep your trends… I’ll stay in my lane and keep turning heads.
Feeling good, dressed better, living fully over 60.
