It’s not Throwback Thursday or Tuesday—I just wanted to re-introduce myself to any new followers.
My name is Adelina. I was born and raised in good old Brooklyn, New York, and those roots are still firmly planted. I am Black and Filipina, and grew up in the housing projects, fell in love with art, and studied fashion design. New York City shaped me. I had a rewarding career in fashion, traveled the world, loved deeply, and lost deeply.
I’m the proud mother of two amazing sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and two beautiful grandchildren. Through all of life’s storms—and there have been many—my faith and my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, are what keep me grounded and centered.
Toward the end of 2018, I made the decision to stop dyeing my hair and embrace my silver crown. That single choice changed the trajectory of my life. I found the Silver Sister community—and they found me. It opened the door to an entirely new chapter here on social media, where I share my life and build meaningful brand partnerships along the way. Being seen and valued by brands for exactly who you are and where you are in life is truly a blessing. It really is a beautiful time to be alive.
I also met an amazing man online in 2017, and we married in 2022, and we live in Arizona—proof that love is absolutely possible after 50. I’m grateful to inspire mature women who are still open to love, joy, and new beginnings.
That’s me in a nutshell. I’m here to inspire, to share my faith, and to do it all while staying fly.
So this is me, then-bright eyed at one year old, and now-bright haired at 68, and all aglow…
Zoom in if you’d like. No Fillers. No Filters. Just me-> some lines, some creases- aging like fine wine. This is 68 ‘bout to be 69.
If there’s anything you’d like me to post about or share, let me know in the comments below.
And thank you—to all of my followers, new and longtime. Some of you have been rocking with me since the early days around the pandemic. I don’t always see everyone’s posts anymore, so feel free to drop a hello below. 🤍
This post composition was inspired by the birthday post of the beautiful @alanasparrow
