WHY CHOOSING GRAY HAIR DOESN’T HAVE TO MEAN LOOKING OLD We Silver Queens of a certain age have finally taken our rightful places, and we are adjusting our crowns. But these Young Silver Vixens are lighting the way for a new generation of women in their 20s,30s, and...

I met Cindy on Instagram the way many of us are meeting these days, liking posts, commenting, and chatting with other Silver Sisters. Captivated by gorgeous photos of her idyllic life of bunnies, critters, and gardens coupled with photos of one of my favorite places...

How a strong and supportive community of women is growing all over the planet. When I decided to stop dyeing my hair, little did I know that a whole new world would open up. No…literally…the WORLD opened up!! It all started locally when my dear Silver Sister...
Continuing the conversation.
We were thinner and healthier back in the day without the help of drugs or extreme workouts. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, but it was a kinder gentler time.

“The 70s called… they want my waistline back.” 😂
Looking at these photos — my brother’s wedding, a fashion show, and that little bitty waist hanging on for dear life — I can’t help but laugh. Back then we weren’t counting calories, we were counting how many buses we had to catch, how many stairs we had to climb, and how fast we could get to the next party. Everybody stayed slim because life kept us moving whether we liked it or not. Food was better then too, not as much fast food as today.
But the best part isn’t the waistline… it’s the memories. The music, the fashion, the joy of that era before life got noisy and complicated. These pics remind me of a time when dreams were big, responsibilities were small, and we floated through our days with a kind of innocence you only appreciate decades later.

Sometimes jewelry calls out to me and I know I have to take it home!😂💎💍
Does that happen to anyone else out there?
Lapis jewelry, adornment, gray haired woman, silver hair, over 60, baby boomer beauty, Mexican jewelry, corso Mexico
Does not compare to the East Coast fall foliage, but it’s beautiful nonetheless!Happy Sunday!!

Episode 4.
In the meantime, in between time, here are some looks I wore during my gray hair journey during the ugly grombre phase when the line of demarcation between new silver growth and the old dyed hair had me in a panic, almost wanting to go back to dyeing it.
Swipe left for all the looks.
But we’ve got options folks!
✅Wigs. Can help you see your future.
✅ Braids. Great for traveling
✅ Hats and scarves. Great coverups
✅ Hair pieces, and ponytails. Great for giving you different looks. I still have the ponytails for when I want to change my vibe.
I also did this when I suffered hair loss in 2021.
I didn’t love the initial transition phase until about 6 months in. The whole transition took two years.
So see, we have options. A little patience , and creativity wins the long game.
How are you dealing with your grow- out?

For decades, my home in Brooklyn was a hub for good food, family, and friends on Thanksgiving. Folks would come in shifts to partake of the Thanksgiving fare - all the delicious recipes handed down from my southern father, and Filipina mom, who were both excellent cooks.
Family for the first round, then each son’s friends would come through, and finally the latecomers for dessert and conversation.
It was a lot of food, and a lot of cooking and the memories are priceless. But that was long ago and far away. I’m a far cry from NYC now, and everyone is scattered about.
My big cooking days are long gone, and I’ve realized that I don’t even like turkey
😲and I’m fine without it.
Thanksgivings are much smaller now, some years just Dave and I, other times with a few friends, but I’m thankful for each and every one and each and every memory.
Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving and I hope you find the time to appreciate your blessings.🙏🏽
XO
Adelina
