How a strong and supportive community of women is growing all over the planet. When I decided to stop dyeing my hair, little did I know that a whole new world would open up. No…literally…the WORLD opened up!! It all started locally when my dear Silver Sister...
How Choosing Gray Hair Changes Everything. I am about 17 months into my transition in these photos. The first photo was taken in March in a photoshoot I had with Susie Lang @women.60. plus, and the one below was taken on my stoop in Brooklyn. Both photos were taken on...
This photo was taken just about 14 months in…to my journey. I was over halfway there and In the home stretch. Patience is a virtue!!!💃🏽 Wash. Set. Blow Dry. My stylist, Catherine @beautydrysalon in Brooklyn has Magic Hands ! Even though the Grombre is in full effect,...
Episode 4.
In the meantime, in between time, here are some looks I wore during my gray hair journey during the ugly grombre phase when the line of demarcation between new silver growth and the old dyed hair had me in a panic, almost wanting to go back to dyeing it.
Swipe left for all the looks.
But we’ve got options folks!
✅Wigs. Can help you see your future.
✅ Braids. Great for traveling
✅ Hats and scarves. Great coverups
✅ Hair pieces, and ponytails. Great for giving you different looks. I still have the ponytails for when I want to change my vibe.
I also did this when I suffered hair loss in 2021.
I didn’t love the initial transition phase until about 6 months in. The whole transition took two years.
So see, we have options. A little patience , and creativity wins the long game.
How are you dealing with your grow- out?

For decades, my home in Brooklyn was a hub for good food, family, and friends on Thanksgiving. Folks would come in shifts to partake of the Thanksgiving fare - all the delicious recipes handed down from my southern father, and Filipina mom, who were both excellent cooks.
Family for the first round, then each son’s friends would come through, and finally the latecomers for dessert and conversation.
It was a lot of food, and a lot of cooking and the memories are priceless. But that was long ago and far away. I’m a far cry from NYC now, and everyone is scattered about.
My big cooking days are long gone, and I’ve realized that I don’t even like turkey
😲and I’m fine without it.
Thanksgivings are much smaller now, some years just Dave and I, other times with a few friends, but I’m thankful for each and every one and each and every memory.
Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving and I hope you find the time to appreciate your blessings.🙏🏽

Getting ready together has become one of the quiet joys of our marriage. It’s simple, but it sets the tone for everything we’re building — partnership, peace, and a life that feels grounded and intentional. There’s something powerful about two people in their 60s choosing each other daily, showing up with love, and stepping into every new chapter side by side. This season of life has taught us that mature love isn’t rushed or loud; it’s steady, faithful, and full of grace. And that’s the energy we’re taking with us every time we walk out that door.

Listen y’all… winter will sneak some fluff on you if you let all that stretchy do the talking! 😂
Leggings and sweats stretch right along with you — loyal but too loyal. That’s how the weight creeps up quiet as a mouse.
So this season I’m keeping at least one pair of ‘truth-telling pants’ in rotation — the ones that don’t lie and won’t let you slip! Jeans. Trousers. Woven fabric that
Will let you know you are a bit too much!
Yep, talking to myself too.
Stay Fly fam-it’s that time of year.

I don’t play around about hydration—especially at higher altitude here in PV.
A hair analysis test reminded me to pay attention to what I’m drinking, so filtering my water through Epic became a non-negotiable. It removes up to 99.99% of the stuff I don’t want in my body.
Healthy living starts inside.

Always been a Fashionista Diva.
Back in high school—and later at F.I.T. in the late ’70s—I lived for those student fashion shows. We were young, bold, and chasing our creative dreams with nothing but talent, pins, and pure hustle. The ’70s… what a decade. Still one of my favorites, and 1970s styles are forever…

5. Hallway vibes in the Gowanus Projects
And somewhere in the background, Prince was debuting in ’79—hair laid to the heavens and looking better than mine. The rest, as they say, is history.

There must be something in the air. I have been purging my closet for a while.
I can’t count how many bags of clothing and stuff we donated this year alone.
So when @dianebrittsmith posted about purging, it resonated with me because I’m purging too.
When I was selling vintage clothing, I used to go to estate sales and I would leave them with mixed feelings because although I would leave with all of the spoils and great vintage clothing, it made me very sad that we stood in line to get in and then rummaged over items that were an important part of peoples lives.Their cherished belongings. Their collectibles. Their lives. Reminder to self
- you can’t take it with you.
Anywho-I went to the consignment shop and they took half of the items. What’s left I’ll have to give away. It must go!
Are you in a phase of getting rid of stuff?
